The Transocean Winner (ex Treasure Saga) was the first ever designed unit of the GVA family of semi-submersibles.
The GVA 4000 drilling semi-submersible was designed for world wide operations with the following objectives: Effective drilling operations during year round North Sea and North Atlantic environmental conditions.
A new level of safety and redundancy, including full compliance with the strict Norwegian requirements on stability, life-saving, drilling equipment etc.
Extensive deck payload in all conditions.
Mooring capability from 80 m to 460 m according to Norwegian requirements.
High standard living quarters for 100 persons.
The GVA 4000 main structure comprises twin pontoons and four columns supporting an integrated deck structure. The lower hull is supported by two horizontal braces. This design is the basis for all units in the GVA family.
The simple but rigid structure ensures a high fatigue life and low maintenance costs.
The unit has 8 all chain mooring lines and two 2.4 MW azimuthing thrusters for propulsion and anchor assist.
